Sianed Jones - voice, fiddle

Sianed is a fiddling, singing composer who specialises in Extended Vocal Techniques. She has a B.A (Hon) Degree in Music, Dartington College of Arts 1980 and an MMus Degree in Electro-acoustic Composition, University of East Anglia 1997.

With an upbringing drenched in Welsh choral singing of the Eisteddfodau, Sianed left Wales and travelled the world researching extended vocal techniques. Her research has taken her to: East Africa (Egypt , Kenya , Tanzania, Madagascar in 1987); Mongolia 1994, Kazakhstan and Kyrgystan 1999.

Working as a composer, performer and improviser, Sianed has collaborated with choreographers (Tiana Razafi Madagascar), theatre practitioners (IOU + WELFARE STATE INTERNATIONAL Nos Do Morro - Brazil), The Royal Shakespeare Company, writers / performance poets (Cris Cheek), story tellers (Ben Haggarty), video makers and filmmakers (Warner Bros ‘Troy’ Mike Figgis ‘Miss Julie’), In-performance projects (Kahondo Style, slant, Andy Sheppard), site-specific works (London Musicians Co-op), and multi cultural collaborations (Garam Masala).
