Sally Pomme Clayton - storyteller/author

Sally Pomme Clayton's performances combine poetic language, startling imagery and playful humour. Her latest book Tales Told in Tents - stories from Central Asia has just been published by Frances Lincoln. She is currently touring festivals telling stories from her book, and working with The British Library on Inside Story. In 2004 she wrote and performed Rama and Sita - Path of Flames with a band of Indian musicians for The Unicorn Children's Theatre. And was commissioned by BBC Radio 3 and Apples and Snakes to create a piece for WOMAD collaborating with musician Janie Armour.

She tours throughout Britain and internationally, recently performing at: The British Museum; the South Bank Centre; Barbican; Bristol Old Vic; Newcastle Playhouse; Oxford Literature Festival. She has performed with The Welsh National Opera, The London Sinfonietta, Chamber Domaine and Joglaresa. She writes of theatre and radio and lectures on oral traditions and creative writing at Middlesex University and Birkbeck College. Sally's website.
